November 2009 News 17/11/09, 01:39 am Hello dear friends
Thank you for the messages of love and support. If you have a ReverbNation, Twitter or Facebook account, please join me there also, but I will try to regularly drop by here every Sunday and I hope to get to know you all here.
Firstly, I just finished a great concert at the Capri Theatre in October with the stunning support of Vivente String Ensemble and the talented Heather Elliott on piano. Everything went wrong on the night with the sound system and other things backstage, but the audience was wonderful and stayed back for ages after the show purchasing CDs and stopping to introduce themselves and chat. Best of all, we managed to raise a bit of money for the Community Food SA on the night and from all accounts the fund-raising has continued after raising the profile fo the charity.
Secondly, in the past few weeks, we (Grace Bawden Promotions Pty Ltd, GBP) have signed to a 3 year licence agreement with EMI/ Gold Typhoon in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. This should be great news for our investors. I have recorded tv and radio ads in Taiwanese already so that is a new experience for me.
This past week I have been working with the Royal Society for the Blind to promote their Path to Vision Trek to be held later this month. The trek is covering 50 km of some of the best scenery in South Australia, along the famous Heysen Trail led by Mt Everest conquerer, Duncan Chessell. I will be doing the trek also and will be performing at "Opera Under the Night Sky" on the last night of our incredible journey.
This weekend I will be spending time in the recording studio working with DJ Phat Controller on some really unique takes on some favourite opera pieces, but you will have to stay tuned. We hope to put a show on the road for 2010 to some major venues across Australia, US and UK.
I have also been blessed to be given the opportunity of recording track with European super-group, Balkanika.
Last month I launched the Serbian Film Festival in Adelaide and was really moved by the wonderful reception from the Serbian community. I very much look forward to being involved with the 2010 festival also.
I have been blessed that I now also have a Japanese Fan Club at MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/gracebawdenjapan ).
Finally, I would ask you all to consider purchasing "Gifts of Grace" for family and friends for Christmas, as $5 from the sale of each CD on-line will go towards diabetes research through The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Research Foundation.
There is a lot more to share, but i hope to pop by every Sunday and give you more as things develop.
Love to you all
Grace xxx

Christmas is coming!
06/12/09, 12:23 am Well, Christmas is definitely coming... too quickly. We finally got our tree up so its 'beginning to look a lot like Christmas'.. cant wait.
Last week I did a 35 km trek along the Heysen Trail. We were supposed to walk 50km to raise money for the Royal Society for the Blind, but I injured my broken foot so that left me out of the race for one day. In all we raised $18,000 which was an awesome effort. The weather was horrid with thunderstorms and gale force winds, but it was all for a great cause and I got to meet some amazing people, including Mt Everest conqueror, Duncan Chessell, which was such a buzz. Next week I am in Melbourne for a few days to get some additional singing tuition and then in Sydney the following week auditioning for the role of Mary Poppins. It should all be heaps of fun.
Ok, signing off and saving some more for next week. Love Grace xx
